It has been fantastic- they seem to really enjoy it- started to plan VBS for the kids, and this year seeing where i have no idea where God is calling and leading me in the next little while, we bumped it up so that we can guarantee that i will be apart of it- i woud like to be- even though it will be July 2-6 or so.

Well- I'm back from Guatemala and it was a fantastic time. going over seas for the first time really opens your eyes to experience and a totally different way of living. we built houses we had VBS for the kids in different places each week- we built relationships within our team of poeple, they were FANTASTIC. For a group of 18 people we all meshed really well together- i think it was the first time i just felt free to be myself. No one esle but jsut me. It was amazing.
The Culture down there- outside of Guatemala city is very traditional- they have held to their traditions- food, clothing, way of providing for themselves. It was really neat to experience the differences in the people. the fisrt thing people asked me when i got back was- what was th epoverty like down there. I can't say for certain that there is a clothing poverty. There is still much i woudl love to learn about Guatemala and how they live, but they all had clothes- holes and all. I'm not sure they had 3 meals a day- maybe only 1. Black beasn were a poor mans food- but they have it with alot of there meals- you can eat it with anything... ( it's gross.. ). the peopel are very plesant..
VBS- SOO FUN.. ok. it was even during our evening worship times that it was SOO FUN.. we did a dance with Ismael- who leads the VBS- awesome teacher.. keeps the kids atttention- very animated. anyway- taught us this dance called the Pollo- which means chicken..lol. it was the funniest game - and you let feelin grediculous.. but laughing... it was awesome! other then that0 it was fun to learn alot of the kids songs that we grew up with and learning songs in general that we know in spanish. it's a beautiful language- and always a little more difficult to learn a song that you know differently. the church service at the WEsleyan church in Guatemala was awesome to be apart of- the kids minsitry is hoppin' and the church services- thanks to the help of Tony- are contemporary- songs that we know. it's cool! i really enjoyed worshipping with them!
I also had the chance to meet my sponcer child- she is SOO BEAUTIFUL! wow.. it was a huge blessing to finally meet her. It definitly brings the letters more to life when you have the chance to speak with them and live a couple of hours with them.. it's never enough- but i plan on visiting again.
the scenery in Guatemala was fantastic! oh my word! it was so beautiful! we were surrounded by 3 volcano's and there were three not that far off from the lake area- we were at the base of the San pedro Volcano. the cities or towns in the area- there are 12 around the lake are all named after one of the Catholic Saints. Each year they would have a celebration- celebrating there saint.. what they do during those- i have no idea...
Since Guatemala- i have been looking for a job. Transition is taking place at Hillside and the new guy coming in would like to start off with a new staff.. which is understandable- and expected.. but it's still hard to say good bye to so many that you care about- and jsut start to get to know. it takes time to build relationships with people... god has a plan.. i'm just not sure what it is yet.
um, well other then that- i can't complain to much! i'm having fun catching up with poeple on face book and doing both my jobs. I hope this is a quick enough update to let you know what i'm up too...

pictures of the wedding

Arn't they a sweet couple! :)

My Grandmothers Wedding

Well, my grandmother got married on October 7, 2006 to a really nice man named Neil Tupper. He has a daughter that's my age... if not a bit younger... she would be my step aunt... how weird is that? But he has 12 children... and now i have a bunch of new step Cousins. Really nice people. unfortunately living up this way i won't be able to get to know them very well. But i did get to meet Aaron and Sarah Tupper, they are sweet ( brother and sister). So it was nice to connect with a couple of my new cousins.
My Grandmother has been giddy and totally Smitten since Neil proposed... ok.. since they started dating. It's been one of those things where when we would see grammy, we would tease her about Neil jsut to get the giggle out of her. It has been the sweetest thing i have seen. The wedding was great! it was so cute to see them kiss. There's jsut something about older people kissing- and in love. ( my grammy lost her husband a few years ago to a stroke, but they made it to their 50th wedding anniversary- awesome mildstone.)

However, Kyle and i had the privledge to sing at their wedding. It's always an honor to sing at someones wedding and to share that special day with them. There's just something about it.

The reception dinner... and dance. That was great! make the best out of everything. It was a blue grass band... now i know that there are die hards about blue grass- country... but it's impossible to dance too... so i thought..lol. I had a few lessons on the fox trot and tripple drive ( from my dad) that made the evening really fun... and entertaining. Otherwise, Kyle and i were just goofing off. Dancing with Rebecca.. or doing the chicken dance. But, the band that was there was a pretty popular band, Neil just happened to be friends with them- cool!

A few more pictures

Andy's wedding- it was really nice! and they are a SWEET couple!

The picture above is of VBS this year "Survivor Canada- The Arctic Adventure!" There has been so much that has happened, and i'm just plain horible at updating my Blog, so for those of you who actually read this, i hope you enjoy my update and pictures. Ok, from graduation, May and June i spent alot of time working at Fabricville as well as getting the process ready for the basement in the church. for those of you who don't know, the church gave me a decent sized amount of money to totally redo the basement. Our final kick off for that is October 22. Which is SUPER exciting. not ot get ahead of myself. But i have been working with a few other peopel to get the renovation set and in place. In May i had a meeting with Rod Wasson and his wife Tony( Moncton Wesleyan children's pastor) to go over some ideas as far as what we would like to have done. It was a great time and we got so much completed in a day. Thanks so much to them for coming! So from there, all the details had to get completed, and as workers go, we have to wait for the right supplies to come in, but they have been doing an excellent Job with our basement! new paint, murals on the walls, new ceiling, a ventilation system in place.. new tables and chairs. The basement is looking liek a children's ministry center! It's AWESOME!

So from June, into July i was at Beulah! woop woop! best place to be....or at Caton's. BUT, It was an exciting time, i loved being able to see so many familiar faces. Dartmouth.. it can be very lonely here.. i don't have many friends that i can really jsut go and hang out with. something i can deal with i guess. i have been for the last 8 months. However, God is good and He provides in time. I have my precious little bunny who keeps me company... he's so cute!

So, Beulah, it was great to see Jer Ordained! Congrats to you Jer! that was the highlight of my week, as well as seeing so many faces that i dind't think i would get to see. Three months from graduation was alot of time! i'm glad alot of us keep in touch on msn.

AND, my brother, for those of you who know, Jason's MARRIED! he got married July 22, in Holland Michigan, to a wonderful young lady named Christine Reidsma, who is now my sister! YEY! It's great having a sister when you have never really had one. She is a beautiful young lady whom i adore! I'm so glad she is now a Blaikie! The wedding was beautiful! Christine and Jason, made everyone cry. I love it the most when they said their vows... you jsut knew they meant it... with ALL their hearts. It was really touching. Kyle and i had the priveledge of singing in the wedding. Bebo Norman "a Page is Turned" great song... it had a great story to it. Wow. It was a memorable day!

It was also very fortunate for me, that i was able to be 30 minutes from where i did my internship, so i had the priveledge of seeing all my friends again! I miss you guys so much! It's hard being so far away from so many people. BUT, it was great to see them again, and show my parents around where i was living for 6 months, a place i learned to love very much!

August 12, Andy's wedding. Kyle and I sang in that wedding as well! It was very memoriable, it was sweet! Andy and Sandra make a really sweet couple! It was so fun to see Andy get married. God really had his hand on thier lives when He put those two together! they are a great balance together! and they take great looking pictures together! Much love and success to the Scott family!

August, still renovations going, but we had VBS- it was AWESOME! It was the first one that i was in co-leading with, but it was GREAT! Chrissy and Kathi did an amazing job also! The kids had fun, they learned about the Bible... by thte end of the week... we had 209 different kids i believe. about 125 different families, which is awesome! we had about 250 poeple in service fo rthe Sunday finale event... in which case, becuase we did a survivor theme... i had to eat a sucker with a cricket in it... specially brought over from NFLD... ok.. it was very crunchy.. and i finally bit into it the end of the service, jsut before everyone went for the BBQ. It was good times. It wasn't half bad after i ate some of it.. the orange sucher part tasted worse. It was soo much fun! i would do it again.. NEXT YEAR! It's funny how we can have so many different complications, and issues that occure, but God still takes all of our weaknesses.. as well as our strengths and makes something amazing out of it. " I Love it"

August 26, had a Blaikie Family reunion, in celebration of my Grandparents 50th wedding anniversary! It wa SOOO fun, neat to meet a whole bunch of relatives that i have never seen in my life. kind of scary when that happens. But it was an experience. My uncle had a gator- 4 wheel tractor that we went up into the apple orchards in and pick apples. who knew that we could have so much fun in an apple orchard and sitting on the back of a gator. It was great! so many memeories and stories... and man.. do you ever get tanned once you come off those things... ok.. maybe it was dirt...

Long weekend in September, Jess and Anita came down to visit.
It was great! it was again so nice to have friends down this way! it has been so long, i loved having you ladies there! come again soon! we should try the pirate cruse again... and get the entertainment rolling.. and Jack Astors...there's just something about that place!

And up until now. My Grandmother Foster is engaged and to be married October 7, to Mr. Neil... i don't even know his last name...but it's the same day as Jer and Sarah's. torn between two.. not so fun... But the ring on grammy's finger is SOO beautiful! on my gosh... he was a good picker-outter! and he seems like a really nice man. My grandfather had passed away very young about 3 years ago.

Up to date, last weekend we had our kids kick off with the curriculum, which... is very exciting! I can't wait to see what God has in store for the kids this year! the renovations is only one thing, but to have a goal of about 75 kids downstairs will be awesome and then hopfully more as years progress.

For those of you who don't know.. which are alot of you, I'm dating a very nice young man named Bryan Wiens. "Tall, dark and handsome" just what my grandmother Blaikie suggested. He's a wonderful man of God, he helps out here at the church on the board level as well as with the youth group. He has his masters in Business and Communications; works with Aliant mobility.. wireless department. GREAT guy, like him lots. Has a very adventureous spirit to him.. definitly pulls me out of my comfort zone... which is a good thing.. and he can tolerate my family... i know they are so hard to get along with... there all Nuts. (smile)

So that's my life update up until now. At least those are the major events that have happened... and will be to come. There is sooo much to do.. and not enough time in the day to get it all done.
Enjoy your fall!
And for some reason.. this thing isn't letting me put pictures on... sorry.. i will try again later!

Graduation!

Well, i realize that it's been a month and a half since i graduated, but I figured i would blog about it anyway seeing as i haven't updated in more than 4 months maybe. I'm really getting horrible at this. Well. Graduation was AMAZING, it was so great to see everyone. For me it felt more like a reunion becuase basically my class came back for graduation having been away for a year. But it was soo nice! And it was great to have shared the platform with Jason- even though he rubs in the fact that he graduated before i did. I'll beat him up for it later! he seems to be doing everything first these days.
Life at Hillside is ALWAYS keeping me on my toes! The kids are great! And we are getting ready for some MAJOR renovation to the basement- it needs it. And we are getting ready to start our summer curriculum. Very exciting.
Well, i don't have a whole lot to say, i jsut know that Graduation was awesome! and that i have 2 amazing places to work and learn people skills and be outgoing.
Oh, for those of you that don't know- it's always one of those akward questions to ask or answer- but Kelvin and i are no longer together- we decided to be friends. I think for the time being it's the best decision for the voth of us seeing as we are so far away and going in separate directions in life. But things are good between us, which is a HUGE blessing.
So that's my update short story- not to interesting . Canandian Idol i think was better! But, figured i would put up at least a picture of Jason and I! We Are DONE!- No more school- no more school!

We're Famous!!!

Hey Everybody! Here is a picture of Kyle and I on Canadian Idol last night. It was from our audition. Proof! We did it!-
AND We made it on TV! How cool is that?? We really thought that they would have put in the part when we first walked in, and Zach sang "If your happy and you know it, clap your hands" Kyle and i clapped our hands- it was funny.

Yes, we did sing " A Whole New World" But we had so much fun doing it! Maybe we'll try again next year! Who knows- it's not all that bad.

That's the fun scoop! We at least tried it!

Canadian Idol

Well, My brother and I tried out for Canadian Idol. However, it was a good experience. We made it past the two preliminary rounds which was awesome. The first time was on our own, adn then the second was becuase they wanted somthing to laugh at... they put us in together to sing a duet. Yea... we haven't sung together in a year.. it was rough.. But we were a gag.. we knew it going in. HOWEVER... part of this whole Canadian Idol process.. which i jsut happened to clue in to.. this whole intuition thing.. so i was paying a little closer attention at the Tv side of things. the judges, bascially in the Celebrity round go by what the producers say in the two preliminary rounds. You have the executive for the first and the Producers for the second.. sooo.. i botched up my second audition, and from conversations that we had... it was repeated on the air, which, they wouldn't have known had they been in the audition room with me. So.. it's a little pre- determined as to who get's a gold ticket or not. But it was still a good experience non the less. I enjoyed the whole ride. So for those of you who are trying out.. your first two rounds are a REAL BIG kicker! It's TV right, they have to do what sells... and if that means doing a great job or passing people through becuase they can't.. well.. the show must go on! BUT.. they were all super nice! They weren't hard on us at all. Maybe becuase when Zach starting singing if you happy and you know it.. my brother and i clapped with him..lol.. which made him realize how silly we were.. but we sang a duet.. which wasn't the best.. i missed a key change.. they tried to get my brother to insult me.. just to make it more interesting.. but.. ya know.. we jsut had fun.. even if they make fun of us..lol. again, as part of mine being pre determined ( which i'm sure the judges can change some of the decisions).. they reemphazised what one of the producers had to say.... BUT.. nice thing they said...i had a very nice tone, nice voice, but i sounded like the girl next door.. no one out of the ordinary ( nothing i didn't already know) So, with a happy face, i just kept on smiling and taking their criticism.. which was totally cool, because i agreed with them... i know.. some of you are thinking..don't think like that.. it's not positive... yea yea.. i know... but let's talk realistically..lol... i'm not pop star material..lol. You have to have the heart for it to really get what you want.. and it's not what i have to offer.. it's never been a dream of mine to be a stage singer. HOWEVER..Zach liked my brother, they gave him a potential yes.. which wasn't enough when you have 4 judges unlike American Idol.. but none the less it was a great experience... Everyone encourage Kyle to try again next year. I relaly think he has it to do this event!
So.. that's my story.. sorry it isn't all that fun, but.. the best part.. was getting to know other Artists adn vocalsist in the area. They were soo much fun, and everyone was soo supportive. They had Great support Staff, great people working for them. Honestly it was awesome to be apart of it and see how things work from behind the scenes... it's what you don't see on Tv. It's really cool.
I think the best part.. is that i did something that was TOTALLY out of my character to do. I went for something that i would have only dreamt to try, and i did it. I feel soo good about trying for something that i didn't realize that i could push myself to do. It's a great feeling knowing that i at least tried... i failed.. but that doens't mean i have to stop there. It's a learning process.. which is why i went for it. I never thought i could do it. When you in with the judges.. my nerves were gone..like.. i didn't notice the producers or anything off to the side.. we jsut.. were ourselves... and they did what they were suppose to do. It was cool.
So that's my nonsense ramble of Canadian Idol! I have had the intent of writing more, but, life getss in the way sometimes. SO, here i go. Kelvin was here Feb. 25- March 4, it was SOO nice to have him around. I wouldn't advise long distance if you can help it. However, on a positive note, it is the best way to help two people to communicate. It's all you can do.. so in the long run it's worth it. Kelvin was able to see the Ocean for the first time, fly on an air plane, meet my parents (which if any of you have met them.. it's really not all that bad). ALSO, he got to meet MANY of you, which was awesome, and if i didn't actually introduce you to him, well.. he was the Tall blond that was near me or with my parents. Sorry... he won't remember any of your names except Brent Green's.
Shadow(bunny) is doing great! He was at home with me while Kelvin was up, he got to visit with Grandma ( aka my mom), i think she's itching for some grand Children... Bunny is all she can have for the moment.
In the last month, my children's ministry has a vision statement, yey! i'm excited about that, we are still working on some of the smaller details for it, values and such. But God is good and he has been bringing things together even though everything around me going NUTS. I cna't wait to be finished my last class before i graduate Bethany. It will be nice to not have homework. I have to admit that i rather enjoy due dates.
Summer/ Spring is arriving VERY fast, i honestly think this year feels the longest, but it has gone by so fast, which makes everything else seem like it was forever ago. That's my perspective on it. I still work two jobs, which i REALLY enjoy! I love working with the ladies at FAbricville, and of course i enjoy working with Pastor Peter, AJ and Bill. They always make the office life interesting.
Other then that, i don't remember to much of what i have done... moved to another house. so i'm not with Audrey and Gerry Barkhouse, i'm with the Hamilton's. As of right now, it's jsut Amanda and i in the house, She is a school teacher, and her parents went to Florida for a month. They have the cuttest dog named Kally, she's a miniture Schnouzer(sp?), beautiful sliver coat.
Well, that's all i have for now, i'll try to keep up on this better!
Oh did i mention that bunny is a BOY? he's still cute, and loves to lick my face... who would have thunk that a rabbit would like to lick?
Have a great day! And it was GREAT to see alot of you at Bethany a couple of weeks ago! Love and miss you!

Two Weeks or more later...

SOOOO.. life in Dartmouth.. it's been a good time, i have enjoyed myself here. Recently i have found many articles of curriculum that i would LOVE to use for my children's ministry. YEYE... so all of that is startinmg to come together. I have some big meetings planned this comming month for our children's ministry. So that will keep me going for a while. Ther'e s alot to do to get everything started and ready to go. It's good though. Good news, I found a second part time job at Fabricville! And don't make fun of that, i enjoy sewing and crafts, so it's a good place for me to be. My first shift was yesteday, (sew) everything was hecktic trying to fiugure out where everything in the store was, and asking alot of dumb questions, but i would rather ask them now so that wasy i didn't have to feel dumb later asking them. I know there is no such thing as a dumb question, but i learned about some fabrics that i never even kn ew exsisted. CRAZY! Anyway, i also went technical in the world.. i got a cell phone, very exciting.. adn the benefits of living in the city, it's nice to have one. I can get cheeper long distance rates to call from my cell phone.. like 3.5 cents a minute. Pretty good if i do say so myself. mmm.. other then that, let's see, the kids named the bunny last weekend! YEYE baby bunny has a name, she will always be my hunny bunny though. However, the kids called her Shadow. She's still as precious as ever, but she did almost become stew the other day when she ate through my mnouse chord aswell as my keyboard chord. so she got into a little bit of trouble when she did that. I was not a happy camper. on a good note. IT'S SNOWING! today we have had like 15-20 cm of snow. It's beautiful! the malls were even closed. I have no i dea if i have to go infor work today or not. I still have to call them again to find out. Its' blowing pretty hard out.
Well, that's the blaikie news as of so far, life is good and going by WAY to fast, i have to move in the next week or so to another buillet family, so i will be sad to leave here. Life must go on!
So until Next time! t-t-afen- ta-ta for now!

His Eye is on the Sparrow...

Ok.. so I really didn't know what to title this entry, but I am listening to that song, and i LOVE it. So, "I sing becuase I'm happy, I sing becuase I'm free, His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me."
So this is my second week of being a Pastor. How crazy is this that god put me in a position where i get to be apart of ministry and helping to change the lives of so many young people. that's sooo cool. I love it here. I am getting use to the city life, which is fun. I have been over to Halifax area with Gerry and Audry Barkhouse. They are a wonderful couple that i live with.. for this month. Idon't know who I'm with for next month. But the time is passing sooo fast. I can't believe it. Anyway. the other day I was down in Eastern Passage, oh gosh.. I miss the ocean. I love the smell of the salt water, I love the wind always blowing in your face... even if it does have a bit of a chill to it. I love the sound of the waves crashing up against the shore. I love walking the beach in my bare feet and looking for shells. I love the peacefulness that it brings. So it was SOO nice to just walk on the beach. Kelvin, I will take you there when you are here. It's beautiful!
Bunny is doing GREAT! i think she loves her new home... in my office. She get's free reign when i am in the office... I learned that i have to keep a bit of a close eye on her because she likes to eat phone chord. oops.. luckly we had a spare... i hope i don't need anymore spares. But she's jsut as cute as ever... and hasn't really grown too much since i got her, she's jsut thickining out some. but she's still cute. She likes to lick. And she sits on my shoulder and i walk around all over and she jsut stays there. Eats my hair. It's nice to have her around...especially where i don't know very many people, at least to hang out with.
So work is good. I'm learning peoples names and talking with lots of parents. I really have to get out of my comfort zone as far as meeting poeple. I'm not very good at it. the shy introverted side comes out. OH... and I have had to learn to budget this past week or so... gosh... money doesn't go very far before it's gone.. gosh. I haven't even spent it but i know it's already gone. AND I had to go looking for a job;... I haven't had a job outside of ministry before. It's soo weird looking fro a job. I put in a couple of applications, so that's a start. I know that God has everything under control.
So that's my story for this week. I dont' think i mentioned., but i get to be IN my brother's wedding. I'm SOO excited. Christine asked me to be a Bridesmaid. I have never done that before, but i'm sooo excited about it. They get married July 21, 2006. Wow.. my brother's going to be married. It's still hard to believe sometimes.

First Day on the Job

Wow... i'm a PASTOR.. i never thought this day would come... let alone being a children's pastor of an amazing Church like Hillside. God has His way of doing things. Ok.. so Technically Sunday was my first Debute... i preached my first sermon in a church.. period.. that was nerve racking.. and i know i could have done more to fix it up.. but it's done and over with.. these people have alot of grace. But Monday was THE day. I go from 9-4:30.. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday... Sunday's.. they are just booked... at least these are the hours to work, until i get my part time job. I also have Pioneer Club Thursday evenings. I think i'll be kept on my toes. So my first day on the job.. i moved into my office. At least i tried to.. i didn't have all of my stuff there with me.. so it took a little longer. My family is comming up with the rest of my stuff today, including the bunny which will stay in my office. So that's exciting. I can't wait. I know there will be a few children who will be in my office all the time. The pastor's kids :) But it will be nice to have the company. Pastor Bill got my regular computer up and running.. he's a very handy guy. And Pastor Peter and i went through expectations and all that stuff. Its' been an interesting process so far. AND beyond all of that.. i went traveling through cole harbour to find out where all the stuff is. Like the basic Necessities. Wal Mart... Super Store.. Bank.. Tim Horton's.. I think i have my bases covered as of right now.
Oh.. I don't Think i have written anything of recently about my brother Jason. Well.. ti's been a HUGE deal that he has come home. Chirstmas it was all about watching the Thai presents being opened. they were SOO cool. I have some hung in my office right now. But on Dec. 31, 2005... my brother is ENGAGED to Ms. Christine Reidsma. I'm SOOO excited for them.. i will have a sister in law... but i love her to death already. She's great and totally fits in with our family. So i'm very excited about that. that's the altest news of my life. First day of WORK.. oh.. and i have my business cards already.. they say.. Pastor Sasha Blaikie... and then phone number and fax, address of the church. It's sooo cool! I have a business card.
HAPPY New Year to everyone!

Merry Christmas

T'is the season to be jolly! Merry Christmas everyone. I hope the day has been AMAZING for you all! Well, my day was super special.. i don't know if i put this on my previous blog about Christmas morning tradition, but Kyle kept the tradition. This morning at 6:45 he called the house.. got my mom to wake me up and he giggly said to me to wake up as well. It was GREAT. Part of our tradition is that Ky wakes me up and then we both go Jump on Jason. So we got jason up to. It was REALLY speical to have him call and continue what we use to do as kids. And the fact that he called from China. That made my day... Other then that.. Santa arrived at our house.. even with all the extra families there. It was a Great time... and YES i do believe in Santa. It helps to keep the imagination flowing.
Gatta love this time of year! i love being able to see family.. i'm sure sometime this week we will make the trip down to the Valley and see all of my other relatives, which will be nice. I haven't seen them in a long time. I have second cousins that i haven't even met.. and i found out last week that one of my cousins had a baby.. i didn't even know she was pregnant. I love being kept in the loop of things. Truro is my home. AND JASON is coming home tonight! I can't wait to see him.. it's seriously been forever since i have.. ok 7 months.. but i'll get over it.. and Kyle is in Bejing looking at The Great Wall of China. How come he gets all the adventures?? i get to stay in North America... they have been all over Canada and traveled to other parts of the world.. and little old me.. stuck in North America... my time will come i'm sure of it. But home has always been where your rump rests for our family. From the Yukon to the Northest Territories and NS, NB, ON... it's where we have gone. That's always a good thing, i have enjoyed the dynamics of our family.. we enjoy being versitile.. i know it's not for everyone.. but it has worked for us.
So the Holidays are arriving.. and we have a HUGE amount of people coming foro Christmas and Christmas dinner. i think about 12 of us, and i must say, that it's a very dymanic group. A bit of family from both sides. I hope this doens't cause world war three. But it will be nice to have the family around.
So Tina was here for the past 5 days or so.. it was REALLY nice to have the company since my parents work all day. We played Cribbage.. which not to many people i know know how to play that. So it's fun to play that with her. And Christmas is only '5 sleeps' away. Yeye.. i love Christmas, i love the surprises, the family, the traditions that each family carries.
Story time with Sasha:
Our tradition is.. Christmas morning Kyle will wake us up at 7 in the morning.. by Jumping on me first saying "Sasha it's Christmas.. you gatta get up.. " and he's do that a few times and we go do it to Jason.. he's the harder one to tackle on this issue.. he loves his bed. And then we go get the stockings and bring them up on Mom and Dad's bed... and yes... even now we still all cram on there bed and open them up. Then we all head downstairs tp look at the Christmas tree.. start a fire in the fire place, and then all take our position.. ok dad always makes coffee frist.. ebcuase he has a hard tiem waking up too :) And then Kyle's the man.. he takes a present from under the tree and we all take turns opening them... one at a time.. sometimes.. THAT'S TORTURE!! if we go to long.. we make Bacon, eggs and hash browns or sausage... for breakfast..mmm.... it's sounds good doesn't it... and then we open up the rest of them.. and i'm not saying we have ALOT under thre tree.. sometimes it jsut takes us a while to oooo and awwww over what we get.
So that's story time with Sasha... that's a tradition at our house... and yes this year it's changing and i'm sure i have already said this a few times.. but growing up isn't always fun...But it's definitly an Adventure.

My brothers...

Well, life is always happening at the Blaikie house! Kyle is in Vancouver and is leaving for China on Saturday.. you ask where?? i'm not completely sure.. and Jason is returning from Thailand on Tuesday. YEYEY how exciting is that! i haven't seen my brothers in 6 months.. and it will be over a year before i se Kyle again, but, i guess that's all apart of growing up.
Other exciting news. I learned how to make Chicken! i cooked it today and i jsut have to put the rest of the seasoning on with this particular recipie. I can bake no problem.. but when it comes to cooking.. it's not my thing... but i'm learning.
So that's my news for the day. Tina is comming for a visit, my church has their contata this weekend.. which means a big Hymn sing.. adn then the best part.. the kids singing and looking out at their parents and waving.. forgetting where they were in the song. The older ones carrying it by themselves. It's cute none the less. Question.. does anyone know of a good easter children's musical? i'm looking for one.
Have a great one!

The Weekend..

Well, this weekend i was at Hillside for the Contata.. which i was apart of, i did a solo, as well as sung with the choir. That was GREAT fun! it was based in the 30'ies... so my outfit almsot took my breath away... literally.. it was pink and tight around my ribs. it was hard to breathe...lol.. anyway...I loved meeting all the people... i have alot of poeple to learn. I think the hardest part of getting a new job, in a church is learning everyones name without feeling dumb. I am horrible at remembering names unless i have a conversation with them. I can remember most kids names, but adults.. gosh.. that's always a challenge.
Oh second thought... ok.. who said that bunnies can jump so high. And i learned this morning that they love to play at dusk and at dawn. Bunny likes 6 in the morning... never put an animal in your room. She jumped out of her box and ran around my room until i decided to get up. So, dad and i are going to attempt to build a cage for her. Something nice to go in my nice new office at the church. It will be a great hit with the kids i think. She's a super cute bunny. Has lots of personality... just as stubborn as me i think. And Robert...thank you for your comment.. :D i will not comment further on that one.
So life is good... i have to prepare my sermon still... and everyone i the church knows that i''m preaching... SCARY...God will see me through it.
So those are my thoughts for the day. bye... Hey Missy and Tina.. am i keeping up on this thing well enough???

opps...

well i had a picture of me here.. but ya know.. i was playing around with this thing.. i couldn't figure out how to make my picture smaller to fit on the personalized stuff in the blog site... but my dad's computer doesn't have the proper programs to do that. gatta love it!

Bunny....

So my new adventure... i have wanted a bunny for the longest time.. and now i have a cute little bunny... she's the perfect pet! i can sit at the piano, sing and play.. she jsut sits there listening to me, or she jsut snuggles close to your neck...at times she can almost be like a dog... she licks. I think it's the baby in her. She's only about 5 and ahalf weeks old. she won't get any bigger than 3-4 pounds.
So that's my new news! Nothing to exciting. I'm jsut passing time by, making presents and hanging out with my mom and dad. Singing at Hillside Wesleyan's contata this year. That's this weekend. The music is fun, it's pretty easy... except the music has like the 5 versus to the christmas carol that no one really knows or has heard of before... So that's always fun to learn :D.. Sorry this isn't interesting, But i'm EXCITED I FINALLY GOT A BUNNY!!!.. a bunny of my own.. And Nata if you read this... It's the bunny (smile).
Some of you might wonder what her name is... um.. baby bunny as of right now. I had been thinking of a cute spanish name.. but i couldn't really find one that i liked. If you have any suggestions. Let me know.
                                       That's all folks

Going Home

Well, the time has come.... I go home. I get to see my parents for the first time in 6 months. It doesn't seem like it has been that long, but it really has been. SOOO.. I get to see my parents tonight, which I'm super excited about.. and then we will see what i will have to do when I go home. I start at Hillside January 1, with my preaching debut! YEY.. just what I always wanted to do...haha... I guess I can learn to endure this. God will see me through. There are a whole lot more preparations to my life now that I am apart of a new position and making a new position successful. I have to learn to be a detailed thinker. That's going to be a challenge. Anyone have any tips on details??

So, thanks to all of you who wrote on my blog, that made me feel special. I'm home from my internship in Spring Lake Michigan, which was an amazing experience all in itself. God really had to take me through a lot of personal baby steps to get where I am today. I believe Myra said that I seem like a whole different person. I took that as a compliment. And then I come home and MISSY gets me to make a blog site.. Gosh... where is this world coming to... an END I TELL YOU! And I’m sure your thinking I lost my sense of humor or something when I left... NOPE... sorry... didn't happen...lol. I have been in the states TOO long... i can't even spell right. neighbour.. or neighbor.... smarties.. or rockets.... Canadian chocolate vs American chocolate... in Subway.. you have to ask for American Cheese??? it's Swiss....white cheese... why American?? I DON'T KNOW... i can't say a whole.. I'm dating an American.

And so this is Christmas... My brother(Jason) comes home soon! i can't wait! it's going to be great! However, this will be our first family Christmas without Kyle. He's going to be in China. LUCKY... I wanna go to China... so that's the sad news. But its all good. I think I'll manage. I have a lot to look forward too as far as January is concerned... going into the ministry and all... I get to work with Peter Moore and A.J Thomas... what better staffing position could I get for my first job! AND i get to start up my own ministry... who'd a thunk. me.. .a children's pastor.. I'm SOOOO excited! if anyone ever wants to visit... just let me know!

OK have fun... bye
